Investing Advice, about Investing Online

The internet has become an important tool in the investment world.
Nowadays, you can do your investments wherever you are, if only you have internet access. In the past though, you had to go to your investor or to your investment office.
A disadvantage of the internet is the fact that when you do your investments, you will have a delay of 30 to 40 minutes, so it’s certainly important to be aware of this delay. An advantage of working with the internet, is that an investment on the internet offers you a lower fee.

I think doing your investments with the internet is much easier than doing it the traditional way, but if you do it that way it’s a disadvantage that you won’t get any help or advice from a person who knows more about it than you do. So although it’s easier using the internet, it’s not always the best option. I also think that the issue with the delay is not a good thing, so maybe they should find a solution for those delays. Thus it’s certainly an improvement that we can do our investments with the internet but it’s not quite perfect. If I should do my investments, I would go to an investment office to get some information and advice, which seems the best option to me nowadays.

    Dear Nicolas.
I already knew that internet offers a lot of possibilities, but after reading your blog message, I was surprised because I had been asking myself how this could be realized on an efficient way.

Internet makes our life easier. We can do things in smaller wage of time so I am convinced that doing investments by using the internet is an efficient way of doing investments, but only if you have a lot of knowledge about it.

I agree with your statement that there can’t be good advice for on-line investments. According to me, that’s really a disadvantage, knowing that if you do an investment for example with the aid of the company Petercam in Brussels, than you will be surrounded by professionals who offer you advice for doing investments. But via the digital way, you can’t rely on this social contact offer. So before you do an investment, you need to know what you’re doing. Knowing what you’re doing can only be done when you’ve succeeded in doing the right investments in the past. So that you’ve learnt more about investments and have the professional skills to change the method of investment, via the on-line way for example. I think that Warren Buffet, the guru-investor, who our English professors talked about is one of those people who are able to do that kind of investments on-line, because he has a lot of experience with doing the right investments.

I can conclude that inexperienced investors should start investing with the support of an investment office, instead of doing the for the first time on the internet. So if you invest, first think and then act.
